About the Role (job title and summary):
The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for monitoring and accurately managing OPS inventory to help maintain optimal stock levels to avoid potential surplus or shortages. This requires preparing requisitions and orders for supplies and equipment, processing, tracking and managing these orders under the direct supervision of the Inventory and Fulfillment Manager (w/dotted line reporting to the Assistant Director, National Procurement) and in alignment with company policies and Illinois cannabis regs. Additional duties include tracking supply and equipment inventories, coordinating the physical receipt of goods (including forklift certification / operation), partnering with Logistics and Transport on delivery schedules and identifying viable opportunities for cost savings.?
How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities):
- Monitors and accurately manages OPS inventory to help maintain optimal stock levels to avoid potential surplus or shortages
- Ensures accuracy of received merchandise by checking against packing slips and confirming receipt dates under the supervision of the Inventory and Fulfillment Manager.
- Ensures timely delivery of requisitioned goods to the respective departments
- Handles unloading trucks and delivery vehicles (Forklift certification is required).
- Ensures that packages are in good, receivable condition and packing slips and BOL's are accounted for and submitted to the appropriate parties for verification, receipt into inventory systems or for general record keeping.
- Partners with the Facilities’ team to ensure efficient and compliant storage of bulk packaging/cultivation/maintenance components in a manner conducive to production and auditing.
- Manages packaging material, boxes, equipment and tools are stocked in an organized manner and available for use.
- Partners with Facilities for all trash and recyclables are to be bagged/broken down and discarded regularly
- Ability to safely use a forklift, pallet jack, dollies and other equipment in unloading delivery vehicles.
- Oversees strategic staging of production materials for multiple departments on an ongoing basis.
- Additional tasks, as assigned by the Inventory and Fulfillment Manager, Assistant Director, National Procurement and/or Senior Production Manager
