What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Lines Account Manager/Small Business (Bender Insurance) position at Acrisure?
Bender insurance, an Acrisure agency partner, and a great place to work, is located centrally in Western Nassau county, convenient to all major highways. Our business casual office has great flexibility. In January we will be working a hybrid work schedule some days from home and some days in the office. Our workspaces are extremely roomy and very comfortable allowing you to give your absolute best.
Our privately owned insurance agency is one of the Top Ten privately owned insurance agencies in the NY Metro area. We are currently looking to hire a Commercial Lines Account Manager/Small Business for our Woodbury, NY location.
Provide superior customer service to assigned Commercial Lines Accounts and retain business by placing, processing, and supporting Agency personnel in accordance with Agency standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review expiration lists to identify renewal needs
- Manage renewal process and market accounts in accordance with Agency procedures (CL Manual)
- Research, review and prepare loss summaries as needed
- Ensure receipt of renewal exposures as requested
- Evaluate policies and completion of applications; ensure class codes, experience mod’s and coverage are correct
- Analyze policies and select potential markets for competitive quotes
- Analyze quotes for adequate coverage and acceptable pricing
- Follow-up with carriers for quotations; negotiate terms with Underwriter as needed
- Prepare proposals; review and ensure accuracy of bound coverage including limits, coverage, and pricing.
- Advise Producer and Account Executive of pending cancellations or collection status of accounts
- Review billing reconciliations: check carrier/finance website for policy status; if not paid, advise (call or send email) insured and document activity for follow up as needed, ensure resolution
- Prepare billing forms for renewals, submit to accounting with backup documentation (quote/proposal); accounting will process and invoice insureds
- Review activities on a regular basis and resolve issues on open activities until completed, document activity as needed
- Maintain accuracy of client policies, computer client files, and applications. Purge paper files of unnecessary or redundant items. Transitionally file all dated or old pertinent and necessary policies and correspondence
- Provide superior customer service to assigned accounts in a timely manner
- Respond to customer inquiries via email or phone to resolve issues and provide solutions for: billing, policy issuance, coverage limits, coverages, policy changes, certificate issuance, etc.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent is required
- New York P&C License, preferred
- Five plus years of commercial insurance experience, required
- Previous knowledge of commercial coverage and marketplace, required
Computer Skills:
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous agency management experience using Applied/TAM experience, preferred
Other Qualifications:
- Must be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and be efficient with excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must have a high level of problem-solving and follow up skills to bring items to appropriate resolution
- A positive, team-oriented attitude is necessary to effectively work with a large variety of personalities
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Perform other duties as requested by management
