JOB DESCRIPTION:
Goal: Work with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to remediate a list of software and device vulnerabilities across cloud-hosted solutions and on-prem devices.
Title: IT Engineer - Server Infrastructure and Vulnerability Remediation
Estimated contract time: 40hours Week for 6 months, with potential for renewal.
We are seeking a motivated and capable IT Engineer to join our team as a Server Infrastructure Administrator with a focus on vulnerability remediation and project management. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Windows-based operating systems (SQL Server, Windows Server, SharePoint, Azure DevOps) and some familiarity with Linux OS. This role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring a proactive attitude, adaptability, and excellent problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities
Technical Management
Perform server OS upgrades and software patching, ensuring compliance with best practices and security standards.
Execute patch and release management, including pre- and post-update verification testing.
Conduct assessments to identify necessary elements and resources for successful implementations.
Navigate AWS infrastructure to analyze and maintain cloud resources, supporting the transition of services to AWS.
Project Management
Utilize Jira for task tracking, timeline estimation, and stakeholder coordination.
Manage projects independently while ensuring alignment with stakeholders needs and timelines.
Prioritize and execute remediation actions for identified vulnerabilities, meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
Collaboration and Communication
Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to coordinate testing, remediation, and implementation efforts.
Document processes, maintain operational standards, and communicate updates clearly using tools like Microsoft O365, Teams, SharePoint, spreadsheets, and documentation software.
Required Qualifications
Practical experience with Windows-based systems, including Windows Server, SQL Server, and cloud services like AWS.
Familiarity with Linux operating systems and cross-platform environments.
Competence in project management tools, especially Jira, for task coordination and reporting.
Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and service migrations.
Knowledge of security protocols and standards related to server and patch management.
Proficiency with Microsoft productivity tools (O365, Teams, SharePoint).
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Server Administrator are a plus.
