Chemical Technician 1 - CHETECH1
Location : Wilsonville, AL 35186
Job Description :
- Provide technical and analytical services for the efficient operation of a fossil power plant.
- Conduct chemical protection in boilers and turbines.
- Perform chemical and physical tests to minimize loss of efficiency.
- Operate water treatment plant within specified parameters.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation to ensure accuracy.
- Execute bulk chemical unloading and monitor chemical processes.
- Use respirators as required and perform various physical activities like standing, walking, and climbing.
- Carry and maneuver bags of chemicals (50 lbs occasionally, 10-25 lbs frequently).
- Operate company truck, monitor control panels, and use hand-arm / foot-leg controls for various tasks.
- Climb stairs, ladders, and maneuver in confined spaces to inspect equipment.
- Analyze data, make technical recommendations, and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, use PPE (Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, etc.).
- Exposure to extreme heat, noise, fumes, and electric shock around equipment.
