Job Title : UX Research Lead
Location : NYC, NY (Hybrid)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification
Mandatory Skills & Experience :
- 8 years of proven experience in user experience research with a strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in user interviews, usability testing, surveys, workshops, A / B testing, and experimentation.
- Hands-on experience in planning, designing, preparing, and executing research methodologies including :
Contextual discovery, experience mapping, diary studies, prototype testing, accessibility testing, and field studies.
Strong ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into insightful recommendations.Expertise in identifying the strengths and limitations of research methods and applying them appropriately across different product phases.Experience in recruiting users that align with required demographics and behavioral profiles.Ability to effectively communicate research findings to diverse stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable insights.Strong analytical skills with attention to data accuracy and statistical validity.Experience managing projects and stakeholder relationships throughout the research process.Passion for advocating human-centered design, data-driven methodologies, and evidence-based solutions.Desirable Skills & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Data Science, or Statistics).5-7 years of experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative user research through all phases of product development.Strong knowledge of methodologies that prevent research biases, such as :Avoiding overgeneralization, recognizing correlation vs. causation, and validating data sources.
Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams including product managers, engineers, policy experts, and data analysts.Prior experience working with city government or public sector organizations.Understanding of statistical principles for evaluating research data.Expertise in executing usability testing, heuristic reviews, competitive analysis, and field research.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate research insights clearly.Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish, is a plus.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in design practices and past projects.Key Responsibilities :
Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to identify challenges faced by New Yorkers and uncover opportunities for city services.Develop and refine a User Experience Research Plan outlining testing methodologies for various product phases (discovery, definition, testing, and monitoring).Design, execute, and analyze data-driven insights through surveys, usability testing, focus groups, experimentation, A / B testing, and multivariate testing.Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that improve user experience.Manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously and ensure seamless execution.Set up and facilitate in-person and virtual research sessions, handling all logistics efficiently.Collaborate with UX designers and developers to integrate user research findings into digital product development.Provide well-documented research insights to stakeholders in an effective and compelling manner.Advocate for a human-centered design approach in product and service development, ensuring data-driven decision-making.If you meet these qualifications, please submit your application via link provided in Linkedin.
