What are the responsibilities and job description for the Herbicide Application Manager position at ACS Infrastructure Development Inc?
This position will be responsible for the Asset Maintenance Business Unit project’s day-to-day management of herbicide and pesticide application to ensure the contract requirements are met in a safe, dependable, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing manner as directed by the Project Manager.

• Perform the investigation and reporting of accidents, injuries, claims, and stop-work requests.
• Coordinate and conduct project-level safety training, worksite assessments, toolbox talks, etc.
• Seek methods to continually improve workplace safety.
• Execute all Company policies and procedures including project-level plans and programs.
• Ensure work performance is within compliance of contractual, federal, state, and local legal requirements.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of the contract requirements and customer’s objectives.
• Under the direction of the Project Manager, execute and manage the project’s operational plan in a well-organized manner to meet and / or exceeds the contractual obligations and within the approved financial budget.
• Ensure Technicians are actively performing duties and responsibilities at optimal performance levels.
• This position requires being available outside of normal business hours as needed, and participating in an on-call rotation on nights, weekends and holidays as may be needed.
• Perform systematic, routine project condition assessments to determine work needs.
• Communicate with Roadway and Facilities Managers for other work-needs identified and requested.
• Schedule in-house operations of work to be performed.
• Apply herbicide and records application per FDACS and FDOT standards.
• Ensure Technicians apply herbicide and records application per FDACS and FDOT standards.
• Perform in-progress and work completed operations to ensure contractual compliance.
• Responsible for the proper management and inventory of materials and supplies.
• Maintain proper record of fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide product information.
• Assist the Project Manager with procurement of materials and supplies.
• Assess material needs, staffing resources and equipment requirements to perform maintenance activities.
• Seek methods to continually improve processes and procedures for cost-effectiveness and performance efficiency.
• Be capable of calibrating all spray equipment.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely submission of all assigned reporting documentation as well as all assigned subordinates.
• Responsible for the proper management, preventative maintenance, and repair of trucks and equipment.
• Maintain positive working relationships with the customer, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Promote a strong customer service culture among the project team members.
• Focus on the Technicians professional development in the fields of, but not limited to, business acumen, customer service, quality, and safety.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, abilities
− Education: HS Diploma or GED (preferred)
− Experience:1 year work experience in construction, road maintenance, landscaping (outdoor work), Prior supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership ability.
− Certifications and Licenses:
− Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (Required)
− Valid Florida Certified Commercial Herbicide Applicator (ROW Required / Aquatic desirable)
