Description of Position
Position Title: Herbicide Application Technician
Department: Asset Management
Report To: Herbicide Application Manager
General Job Description:
This job is responsible for spraying, cutting, trimming, removing weed, grass, and brush for various public or private businesses. Sometimes this is accomplished with a spray truck, and ATV, a backpack sprayer, or by dragging a hose.
Essential Functions

•This position requires being available outside of normal business hours as needed, and participating in an on-call rotation on nights, weekends and holidays as may be needed.
•Must be able to work as part of a team or individually.
•Must be able to drag 50lbs for 150 feet.
•Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
•Must be able to climb onto the back of truck and load containers.
•Must be able to complete math problems using multiplication and division.
•Must be able to operate a smart phone using email, text, apple or google maps, and various other communication apps.
•Must be able to follow written directions and keep on schedule.
•Must be able to bend, walk, or stand in an outdoor environment daily.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
− Operate various power tools to include chainsaws, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.
− Complete all required truck/vehicle inspections completely (responsible to identify and trouble shoot truck/spray system issues or needed repairs.
− Keep truck and equipment clean and always organized.
− Individuals will be trained to be capable of calibrating all spray equipment.
− Individuals will be trained in the basic understanding of weed, grass, and brush types.
− Individuals will be trained to have a general knowledge of methods and chemicals used, what they control, and all safety requirements to meet the customers' expectations.
Education/Certifications
− HS Diploma or GED
− Work Experience: 1 year work experience in construction, road maintenance, landscaping (outdoor work)
− Certifications and Licenses:
− Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (Required)
− Valid Florida Certified Commercial Herbicide Applicator (ROW / Aquatic desirable)
