General Job Description
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the shop and the fleet. Ensuring that equipment and vehicles are in ready to work condition so the contract requirements can be met in a safe, dependable, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing manner as directed by the Operations and Maintenance Manager.
Project Details
595 O&M Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACSID. 595 O&M is responsible to perform all maintenance and renewal work for the I-595 interstate system until 2044. I-595 is Broward County’s
major east-west thoroughfare used by residents and visitors to get to work, shops, entertainment venues, the airport, Port Everglades, and the beaches. The I-595 consists of three at-grade reversible express toll lanes known as 595 Express, serving express traffic to/from its direct connection with I-75/Sawgrass in the west to I-95 and Florida’s Turnpike in between. The Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between FDOT and I-595 Express, LLC (the “Concessionaire”) The Concessionaire has contracted with 595 O&M, for a period of 20 years, to perform all maintenance for the assigned facilities including work associated with Roadway, Structures, Drainage, Roadside, Vegetation and Aesthetics, Traffic Services, Incident Management, Road Rangers, Traffic Management Cetner Operations, and all related Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS).

− Serve as the process leader for shop activities, ensuring work standards are defined and systemically improved with input from management and the rest of the team
− Monitor to ensure that all employees and any person in the shop comply with safety regulations and the organizations safety program
− Work with employees to manage schedules and resolve technical and availability issues relating to equipment and supplies
− Perform minor repairs on equipment
− Operates trucks and other automotive equipment as needed
− Load and transport equipment to and from repair location as needed
− Monitor documentation and records of all vehicles and equipment, including areas related to the inspections, certifications, and servicing. Track, update, and report on data within our vehicle management system.
− Communicate with all users regarding routine lease maintenance requirements and address any maintenance issues in a timely manner.
− Maintain strong relationships with vendors for maintenance and other essential services, emphasizing quality and compliance
− Adhere to company-wide rules and regulations
− Responsible for the implementation of the preventive maintenance and repair program to ensure vehicle safety and operating efficiency
− Prioritize workload based on Company requirements, parts availability, manpower, costs, and compliance needs
− Ensures regulatory compliance with all state and local laws and regulations related to vehicle maintenance
− Manage the Inspection (DOT, State) process in accordance with applicable State and Federal policies and regulations
− Control maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs
− Create and ensure accuracy of parts & fluids inventories and monitory cost versus budget.
− Supervise the purchasing of new vehicles, equipment, Supplies and other Materials needed on the project
− Interact in a professional manner with employees, vendors, suppliers and contractors
− Perform all other position related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
− High School diploma or higher; with relevant work experience
− CDL is highly desirable
− Dealership or Repair Shop Experience will adapted well
− Armed Forces Service is highly adaptable
− Construction or Maintenance Experience highly sought-after
− Work Experience: 7 years’ work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry (preferred); prior experience in a leadership role (highly preferred)
− Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record (required) DOT certifications (highly desired)
− Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
