Company Description: ACS Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems and skids. We have one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC.

Job Summary: The Department Lead works closely with the Shop Department Supervisor and helps manage the production within their department.

Job Responsibilities/Duties: Department Lead

Works side by side with the Shop Department Supervisor and assists with the following responsibilities:

· Assists team resources on a daily basis to ensure compliance to drawings, processes and procedures.

· Assists with planning and assigning daily workload for all team resources.

· Identifies safety, quality, production, and efficiency issues and recommend improvements

· Report issues regarding personnel or production directly to the Department Supervisor

· Assists with training of new and existing employees on all topics related to their specific job duties, including the company portal and ERP system.

· Assist with coaching and counseling team resources

· Assist with interviewing potential candidates and provide them with information regarding the position.

· Ensure that your department is maintained, clean and organized.

· Helps ensure personnel continuously adhere to ACS and OSHA Safety Policies and rules.

· Assumes Department Supervisor responsibilities when Dept. Supervisor is not available

· Responsible for any other tasks that may arise; at any time

Work Environmental & Physical Demand:

· May stand for long periods of up to 12 hours.

· Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands

· Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.

· Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

· Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in a shop/production environment

· Needs to have previous experience in a similar position

· Displays management and leadership skills

· Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment

· Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills

Required Education:

· High School diploma or equivalent
