Overview
Provides highly responsible administrative oversight by monitoring and managing contracts for food service, medical, and commissary services, and all other DOJ related contracts. Performs research and responds to complaints regarding medical services and/or other complaints at the direction of the Major/Director of the Jail and/or the request of Division Commanders.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Major/Director of the Jail. Performance is evaluated through conferences, observation, results obtained, oral/written reports, and appropriate employee performance appraisals.
Responsibilities
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
- Ensure that medical and commissary contracts are current and abide by agency directives, Florida Model Jail Standards (FMJS), Florida State Statutes, applicable health department regulations, and accreditation standards
- Ensure that all DOJ related contracts are accurate and current, and, under the direction of the Major/Director of the Jail or designee, assist staff in administrative functions for contract renewals and/or transmittals; advise appropriate staff when it is necessary to initiate renewals or Request for Proposals (RFP) / Request for Quotations (RFQ)
- Assist the Major/Director of the Jail and/or Division Commanders in all administrative functions relating to department and vendor contractual obligations
- Ensure administrative oversight and liaison with the health care provider and/or the contract manager regarding medication storage, medical staffing, and maintaining accurate records for compliance with contract, directives, FMJS, and statutes, and conduct necessary audits
- Ensure all professionals provided by the health care provider are licensed, certified, and/or registered appropriately
- Personally conduct and coordinate DOJ orientation for all contract vendor personnel as required
- Monitor billing to ensure necessary adjustments are made prior to approval for payments being sent to the Accounting and Budget Bureau
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is forwarded to the Accounting and Budget Bureau in a timely manner
- Complete all special projects designated by the Major/Director of the Jail or designee in a timely manner

Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- [X] Associate's Degree [ ] Preferred
- [ ] Bachelor's Degree [X] Preferred
- Preferred Major(s): Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, or other related field
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Three (3) or more years of professional level experience in a related field
- Experience with computers
