Manager, Accounts Receivable/Billing

ACT 2 Services Inc. is a west coast linehaul trucking company and local pickup an delivery company serving the airlines for over 30 years. We have an immediate opening for an Accounts Receivable/Billing Manager for our Brisbane office location.

Pay Range and Hours: $75,000 to $85,000 per year, Monday-Friday

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to oversee our billing operations and collections process in a high-volume environment. This role is responsible for managing a team, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, optimizing AR collections, and leveraging technology for automation and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of billing systems, and a track record of improving efficiency through automation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and Lead a team of billing specialists, ensuring accurate and timely processing of high-volume invoices.
• Oversee AR Collections, implementing strategies to improve cash flow, reduce outstanding receivables, and minimize bad debt.
• Utilize Technology and Automation, including auto-rating tools and billing system enhancements, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure Compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and industry regulations.
• Analyze Billing and AR Data, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams, including sales, operations, and IT, to resolve billing disputes and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Develop and Enforce SOPs for billing and collections to standardize workflows and ensure best practices.
• Monitor KPIs related to billing accuracy, collection effectiveness, and aging reports, providing regular updates to leadership.
• Handle Escalations from customers or internal teams related to billing discrepancies or collection challenges.
• Train and Develop Staff, ensuring they stay updated on new technologies, processes, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in billing and accounts receivable management, preferably in a logistics or high-volume transaction environment.
• Strong experience with billing software, ERP systems, and automation tools (e.g., auto-rating, EDI, and electronic invoicing).
• Proven ability to improve processes and implement technology-driven solutions.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of GAAP and AR best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in logistics, transportation, or third-party logistics (3PL) industries.
• Familiarity with automated billing solutions.
