SUMMARY: This position is responsible for setting up, controlling and monitoring machines that bring two or more conductors together to form the final twisted length, the lay length, outer cable diameter, and lengths of the final product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and minimize workplace hazards.
- Participate in training related to operation of machine and related paperwork, increase knowledge and awareness in order to assist in performing maintenance tasks.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Set up Planetary Cabler according to the shop paperwork and check setup once the machine is running.
- Monitor the cabling process closely, making real-time adjustments to equipment settings to maintain product quality and output efficiency. Conduct quality and settings checks upon starting shift and regularly throughout the shift.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Notify supervisor of any issues and if items fail to meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, including product counts, machine settings, and maintenance activities, to track productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Prior on-the-job/hands-on experience a plus
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to work well with a team, but also be comfortable with doing independent projects.
- Good communication skills and patience.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

- Continually required to move and load heavy reels into the cabler for longer periods while setting up.
- Continually required to monitor cabler for wire breaks and other issues.
- Continually required to work near large, moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally required to use a step ladder to reach items on the higher shelves.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision. depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $19 - $29
