Job Title: Architect - Construction Drawing Phase
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Architect with 1 to 3 years of experience in the construction drawing phase. The ideal candidate will have full proficiency in using REVIT and possess the ability to produce complete sets of construction drawings for new construction projects. This role involves coordinating with all engineering trades and managing ground-up projects from inception through completion. A strong understanding of residential projects, including multi-family/mixed-use and single-family homes, is essential.
Responsibilities
- Work on both New Jersey and Florida projects.
- Lead the team in producing full construction document sets for multi-family/mixed-use projects ranging from 200 to 4,000 sq ft.
- Advise and work with junior staff of 2-5 within the construction drawing phase.
- Collaborate with or report to a Sr. Associate/Lead Designer.
- Spend 25% to 50% of time in technical production, including producing, marking up, and red-lining documents.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and trades on all projects.
- Review all drawings for code compliance.
Essential Skills
- 1 to 3 years of architectural experience within the construction drawing phase.
- Full proficiency in using REVIT.
- Ability to produce full sets of construction drawings for new construction projects.
- Knowledge of building codes.
- Bachelor of Architecture degree.
- Ability to coordinate with all engineering trades and manage ground-up projects from inception through completion.
- Strong understanding of residential projects, including multi-family/mixed-use and single-family homes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in CD phase and the ability to oversee or assist other architects with construction documents.
- Project management skills.
- Construction administration experience.
Work Environment
Our office locations are in Asbury Park, NJ (main office) and Boca, FL, with the flexibility to work from either location if needed. Our staff comprises a total of nine members, including principals and Sr. associates with over 22 years of experience. The work environment is a mix of 70% independent work and 30% collaboration. Projects are diverse, with 60% multifamily/mixed-use, 20% residential single-family, and 20% hospitality. Project sizes range from 15 to 100 units with an average duration of 2 to 5 months. The role requires five days in the office, but with real flextime and no set schedule. Summer hours are also available. The studio environment is great, offering significant growth potential and real work flexibility. Enjoy 10 holidays and PTO days based on experience, typically two weeks. The location is conveniently situated down the shore.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
