Job Description

Coordinate the tactical purchasing function for direct materials to meet company objectives for cost, quality, and delivery. Develop, implement, and document cost reductions. Achieve target for direct material cost and minimal lead times as established by the Company. Supplier selection and development. Monitor supplier performance (price, quality, delivery and corrective actions). Develop and prepare cost estimates for new models or designs. Monitor standard cost and identify causes of PPV. Assist in preparation of budget and standard cost. Assist to resolve quality, design, and production form and fit issues and develop corrective actions with suppliers. If required, coordinate testing schedule with R&D department for cost-down design parts or parts from alternate suppliers or new project implementation.

Responsibilities

• Select and develop suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of price, quality, delivery, and corrective actions.
• Develop and prepare cost estimates for new models or designs.
• Monitor standard cost and identify causes of PPV.
• Assist in preparation of budget and standard cost.
• Resolve quality, design, and production form and fit issues and develop corrective actions with suppliers.
• Coordinate testing schedule with R&D department for cost-down design parts or parts from alternate suppliers or new project implementation.

Essential Skills

• Supply chain purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Experience with cost reduction and budget management.
• Experience with MAPICS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7-10 years purchasing experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
