Job Title: Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our team in a modern, state-of-the-art laboratory. The role involves performing general wet chemistry lab testing, including pipetting, viscosity, pH, and boiling point measurements. You will receive training on various instruments such as automatic pipetting machines, Gas Chromatography, and IR spectrometers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine jobs associated with testing and approving chemical blends.
• Conduct incoming, intermediate, and final chemical inspections of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
• Document test results, statuses, and chemical non-conformances.
• Maintain quality records and verify raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods against established specifications.
• Generate certificates of analysis and conduct USP testing and documentation as applicable.
• Inspect USP containers and tankers when necessary.
• Gauge, sample, and document incoming ethanol shipments.
• Perform quality jobs as required for backup or during peak loads.

Essential Skills

• Ability to pick up on chemistry testing and maintain a fast pace while ensuring quality.
• Quick learner who can work with minimal supervision and follow SOPs.
• Strong time management skills to set individual agendas for testing after training.
• Effective collaboration and communication with team members and supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• A BS/BA degree in Chemistry or related science fields.
• Experience with wet chemistry from school or on the job.
• Knowledge of modern quality principles and industrial quality practices.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in typing, filing, and basic PC skills.
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr.
