Civil Drafter

📍 Location: Redlands, CA | Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire | Workplace: On-Site (Hybrid Flexibility)

About the Role

We are seeking a Civil Drafter with expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and land development to join a dynamic team at Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers to prepare civil design plans, public works drawings, and survey maps for high-impact projects. Key Responsibilities

✔ Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to draft and design civil engineering plans for land development, public works, and utility projects.

✔ Prepare ALTA survey maps based on engineer-provided data and public resource research.

✔ Draft detailed construction drawings including grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility plans.

✔ Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet regulatory and industry standards.

✔ Conduct research and obtain survey data from public records to support mapping and design processes.

✔ Assist in proposal preparation and project planning to support business development efforts.

What You Bring

✅ Education & Experience:

• 2 years of experience in Civil Drafting (AutoCAD Civil 3D required).
• Experience with land development projects, land survey maps, and mapping standards.
• Strong understanding of public works drafting and regulatory requirements.

✅ Technical Skills:

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
• Experience with land development, grading, stormwater, and drainage design
• Understanding of ALTA surveys, public works projects, and mapping standards

✅ Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (not required, but a plus)
• Experience with ArcGIS, Carlson Software, Revit, or BIM tools
• Knowledge of grading design and transportation projects

✅ Work Environment & Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts with a preferred 7 AM start time
• Collaborative team setting with 2 drafters reporting to a Project Manager

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
