Summary
We are looking for a skilled CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings of MacroAir's commercial products and plans using various drafting software. The CAD Drafter will also develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), configuration specifications, and detailed instructions that relate to technical drawings and designs. This support will be crucial for manufacturing and engineering in the development of MacroAir products. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to collaborate with engineers to bring concepts to life
"Essential Job Functions"
- Creates technical drawing packages for MacroAir products illustrating systems from specifications, source control drawings, sketches, models, prototypes, or verbal instruction
- Translates 3D parts/assemblies into comprehensive drawings for manufacturing
- Creates assembly drawings with step-by-step instructions for manufacturing
- Assists engineering, preparing product specifications and collecting data, ensuring customer delivery deadlines are met
- Review all technical documentation packages created by other team members for accuracy and integrity
- Supports manufacturing staff with any drafting questions regarding current products
- Manages engineering change control (ECR/ECO) procedures. Create ECO’s from ECR’s or engineer input
- Aids in creating test fixture drawings
- Collaborates with all departments to take a full-scope view of processes and how they flow through necessary systems.
- Identifies change in processes and offers applications and solutions to promote optimal efficiency as MacroAir grows.
- Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Specialized courses or specific experience in drafting, design, and engineering practices
- 5 years drafting experience ( minimum)
- Proficient using Solidworks
- Experience with database software (i.e. Acumatica or similar)
- Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with level 3 technical documentation (Manuals, technical documents)
- Knowledge of quality and safety standards
Physical and Environmental Elements
Physical demands: Ability to sit continuously for over 2/3 of the normal work shifts. Standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms for at least 1/3 of the normal work shift. Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch up to 1/3 of the normal work shift. Ability to talk or hear continuously. Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less); ability to see at a distance and peripherally. Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 2/3 of the normal work shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for up to 1/3 of the normal work shift. Ability to climb stairs regularly
Vision: Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
Work Environment: The position is typically performed in an office environment with computers and in the manufacturing environment with machinery. Industrial and machinery is adjacent.
