Civil Engineer (Aviation/Airport)

Actalent is seeking a Civil Engineer with expertise in aviation and infrastructure to join our client’s team, which prioritizes growth and stability. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of DOT and FAA guidelines regarding civil engineering projects. This role is based in Hawaii, but we are open to relocating candidates from the West Coast due to the similarities and appeal of the region. We are also considering candidates residing in Seattle, as we have a local office there, provided the candidate is willing to travel periodically to Hawaii.

Compensation is commensurate to posted range but we are also to negotiation for rates higher than posted.

Formal Description:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to design airports and other civil site development projects. The position involves civil design of airport infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aircraft aprons, airfield electrical improvements, drainage, grading, and other related infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide airfield engineering services, including planning, assessments, design, project management, and construction management of airport-related infrastructure.

General/Technical Responsibilities

• Develop new or refine engineering design solutions and deliverables for moderate-scope projects.
• Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations and solutions, identifying insufficient data and recommending further investigation if needed.
• Act as a staff advisor and consultant, providing valuable input during design meetings and workshops within your technical specialty.
• Conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations, both internally and at client meetings.
• Perform value engineering evaluations, propose alternative designs, and prepare reports/memorandums summarizing completed work.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate project plans and design criteria for a variety of projects to be executed by others.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering for moderate-scope projects.
• Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
• Track overall financial performance of task assignments, coordinating with the Project Manager to monitor staff time and work backlog on tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
