Job Description

Operate and control a processing unit or a series of units to effect specific chemical changes in formulated products to achieve desired results. Follow prescribed and standardized procedures with some degree of latitude due to the reactive nature of the substances processed. Measure and charge materials into processing equipment, and transfer them in accordance with the processing sequence. Observe instruments and gauges, obtain samples for testing, and maintain process records as required. Regulate and adjust manual, automatic, or electronic control devices to bring about proper chemical reactions or results. Modify standard processes under the direction of the lab to correct batch irregularities.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

• Chemical production experience
• 2 years of batch making experience in chemicals, paints/coatings, or food
• 2 years of experience working off a batch record/ticket
• Experience in chemical mixing, compounding, blending, and batching

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Experience in chemical compounding, batching, blending, and chemical manufacturing

Work Environment

Chemical manufacturing facility with strong chemical smells. The role involves sitting 10% of the time, standing and walking 80% of the time, and kneeling or twisting 10% of the time. The position requires frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. The night shift hours are 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. from Monday to Thursday (Four 10-hour days). Training will be conducted on the 1st shift, which runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00
