We are seeking a skilled Construction Manager / Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic, employee-owned engineering and construction management firm. You will be responsible for overseeing a Children's Science Museum project in Sterling, Virginia, working as an Owner's Representative. This high-level administrative role requires proficiency with RFIs and submittals and involves working directly with the general contractor.
Responsibilities
Oversee the construction project on behalf of the owner, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications and standards.
Manage and process RFIs and submittals efficiently.
Hold general contractors and subcontractors accountable to project schedules and deliverables.
Serve as the on-site representative, maintaining strong communication with all project stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and report any issues or delays to the relevant parties.
Essential Skills
Experience with RFIs and submittals.
Experience as a Construction Manager, with a focus on client interests.
Experience working closely with general contractors and subcontractors.
Strong project management and construction management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in higher education construction projects.
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
Work Environment
The position will be based in Sterling, VA, overseeing the construction of a new Children's Science Museum. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00 / hr.
