Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Description

This position will monitor 5S, shop floor management, and Kaizen improvements across the business and execute lean principles at the manufacturing site in conjunction with other departments. The specialist will coach, mentor, and facilitate within the business to create a culture that embraces 5S, value stream mapping, waste elimination, standardized work, information flow, problem-solving, strategy deployment, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate 5S events, including invitations, presentations, and materials.
• Execute 5S audits within the campus.
• Develop and maintain necessary policies, records, documentation, procedures, and practices to achieve organizational objectives and commitments effectively and efficiently.
• Organize teams to implement continuous improvement activities and ensure timely implementation.

Essential Skills

• Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement.
• Hands-on experience working on the shop floor, making improvements with operators and floor leaders.
• At least 3 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work across multiple locations and all management levels and functions.
• Strong systems and data management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in ISO standards and scrap reduction.

Work Environment

The position offers a flexible schedule with shift hours from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with minimal overtime. There are opportunities for growth as the department develops. The specialist will report to the coordinator and lead continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
