Job Description
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves interacting with customers to identify their needs for distribution design improvements and then creating designs using proprietary software. You will be responsible for submitting requests in internal systems and ensuring the completion of work in the field. Approximately 40% of your time will be spent meeting with customers, while the remaining 60% will be dedicated to office-based design execution.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers to determine their needs for distribution design improvements.
- Design necessary work using proprietary design software.
- Submit requests in internal systems and oversee the completion of work in the field.
- Meet with customers approximately 40% of the time.
- Execute designs in the office approximately 60% of the time.
- Utilize electrical knowledge, including understanding transformers, electrical distribution of power, and conductors.
Essential Skills
- ABET accredited Bachelor's Degree within engineering (ME, EE, CE) or engineering technology (MET, EET, CET).
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to present oneself professionally.
- Desire to work for a large utility.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous distribution design experience is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.65 - $28.65/hr.
