Job Title: Director of Engineering

Job Description

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, including 2 direct reports and 15 indirect reports, with management responsibilities in Madison and Dublin, Ireland. This role involves overseeing sustaining and manufacturing engineering activities related to a medical device, driving engineering innovation, product performance, and ensuring product quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team of engineering professionals, including 2 direct reports and 15 indirect reports.
• Supervise engineering operations in both Madison, WI and Dublin, Ireland.
• Oversee sustaining and manufacturing engineering activities related to the medical device.
• Drive engineering innovation and product performance.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards.
• Support new product development and introduction processes.
• Collaborate with global teams and departments to achieve engineering goals.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• 15 years of engineering management experience.
• 15 years of experience in new product introduction or taking a product from concept to completion.
• 15 years of experience working in the medical device industry.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 standards.
• Proficiency in project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
• Proven track record as an engineering manager or director of engineering.

Work Environment

The role will be based in Madison, WI. The local office focuses on creating a medical device used in the NICU for babies with lung issues. The position offers an opportunity to work globally with different teams and departments, along with a 20% bonus opportunity.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $190000.00 - $215000.00

Mallinckrodt offers a full benefits package including health, dental, and vision. This role will also be eligible for a 20% bonus. Relocation is an option for a non-local candidate too.
