Job Title: Director of Engineering Experience
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering with strong experience in the design, testing, and development of truck and automotive HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with proficiency in SolidWorks and an understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and maintain a Design Plan as outlined by the Quality Management.
- Monitor, measure, and report on operations issues, opportunities, and development plans.
- Manage and control departmental expenditures.
- Consult with inter-company departments to assess the manufacturability of intended products.
- Communicate with customers to fully understand requirements, preferences, and applicable governmental regulations.
- Prepare engineering analysis of projects, including preliminary designs and calculations.
- Utilize engineering staff to ensure the release of detailed drawings suitable for purchasing, manufacturing, and inspection of component parts.
- Ensure the full release of Bills of Material and Assembly Line illustrated instructions.
- Review development plans for compliance with engineering standards and good practices.
- Verify product design through the construction of proof-of-drawing components and prototype system installations.
- Validate designs through lab testing of production representative prototypes.
- Ensure reliable documentation flow into and out of the engineering department, including ECRs, ECOs, BOMs, and Assembly Line Instructions.
- Responsible for department staffing and periodic reviews of staff performance.
- Selection and maintenance of engineering tools and equipment.
- Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, and technical construction specifications.
- Prepare and coordinate engineering change requests, notices, and Bills of Materials.
- Perform mechanical engineering duties related to mechanical devices, components, and environmental control.
- Manage project issues and schedules and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
- Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team.

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
