Job Title: Aerial Designer/GIS Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Aerial Designer/GIS Technician to support OSP aerial design and services. The role involves taking data collected in the field and utilizing AutoCAD to create drawings and construction documents for cities, counties, and general contractors. You will work primarily within AutoCAD and other specialty software. Communication with the field team and coordination with crews to determine project needs is crucial. Additional responsibilities include quality control checks on previous construction documents, audits, and organizing permits for cities and counties.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD to create drawings and construction documents
• Support OSP aerial design and services
• Communicate and coordinate with field teams and crews to determine project needs
• Perform quality control checks and audits on previous construction documents
• Gather and organize permits for cities and counties
• Participate in client communication and meetings as needed

Essential Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD (0-1 years)
• Civil or land experience (6 months)
• Knowledge of OSP aerial support and field work (0-1 years)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Telecom experience preferred but not required
• Previous experience in land or civil engineering is a plus
• Experience in OSP design and layout is advantageous

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based, working within AutoCAD and other software programs. Periodic site checks in the field are required. You will work Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some flexibility in start and end times depending on productivity and project deadlines. The office environment includes working with a team of approximately 5 other drafters/designers. There is opportunity for growth within the company, including potential promotions to OSP Designer II, III, project management, or client development roles, which come with increased pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00
