Job Title: EHS Manager

Job Description

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will work with management and plant team members to build and support a strong proactive safety culture and an efficient, effective, and compliant safety and regulatory compliance program. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and health of all employees while maintaining environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, DOL, and other relevant regulations.
• Provide safety training and education to employees to promote a safe work environment.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with management to integrate EHS into daily operations and decision-making processes.
• Ensure the site meets all regulatory requirements and maintains necessary EHS certifications.
• Manage and report on EHS metrics and key performance indicators.
• Foster a culture where EHS is a priority and integrated into the everyday behaviors of all employees.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in EHS management.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, DOT, DOL, and environmental laws.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Proficiency in word-processing and integrated software applications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• Ability to create an environment where EHS is a priority and embedded in daily behaviors.

Work Environment

This position is located in a manufacturing setting, specifically producing roofing shingles. The facility has a fast-paced culture with a team size of 130 people, and the EHS Manager will have one direct report. The dress code is business casual. The work schedule includes standard hours and shifts appropriate for a manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.13 - $55.14/hr.
