Job Title: Powertrain Controls Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a long-term Powertrain Controls ECU Test Engineer focused on electrical powertrain testing support. This Position is Located in Columbus, Ohio area.

Responsibilities

• Automotive development and testing of Powertrain Control Units.
• Writing hardware and software specifications.
• Performing confirmation testing on the actual vehicle and simulator.
• Troubleshooting and fixing related problems.
• Software functional data analysis and report generation.
• Working with component suppliers and other departments to resolve technical issues.
• Making technical decisions with moderate supervision.
• Working with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
• Researching new technologies and market trends and making proposals for future products.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of Powertrain ECU testing experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar field.
• Vehicle testing experience.
• Knowledge of CAN, Canoe, ECU, Powertrain Controls, ECU Validation, Electrical Hardware, and Electrical Software.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Vector tools (CANape).
• Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Transmission or FI-ECU preferred.
• Interest in the automotive field.
• Experience with electronic measuring equipment and electrical troubleshooting.
• ETAS INCA experience.
• Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license.

Work Environment

This position is situated in an R&D work environment, focusing on testing. The role may require travel and overtime work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
