Actalent's client in Surrey is seeking an Electrical Technologist to join their team.
TOP REPEATEABLE DUTIES
- Developing Requests For Quotation (RFQs) and working with Procurement on electrical specifications
- Selection of switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centres (MCCs)
- Design single line diagrams, light panels, layout drawings
- Support ETAP studies (ArcFlash, load flow, lighting)
- Maintain high level communications with multi discipline teams on project deliverables
MUST HAVE
- 8-10 year experience within electrical engineering, ideally from EPCM environments
- Low voltage experience - 600V and down
- Software: ETAP, AutoCAD 3D, Bluebeam
○ ArcFlash, LoadFlow, Lighting
○ Support studies but not running studies/creating reports
- Familiar with low voltage deliverables
NICE TO HAVE
- Medium voltage experience - 4160V and up
- LNG/hydrogen experience
- Instrumentation and controls proficiency
WORK ENVIRONMENT
On site - Surrey office preferred but will consider Calgary candidates equally (office in Calgary).
Hours/Shift: M-F, 7:30am-5pm - Unpaid lunch
Hybrid: Fridays - HOME. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - OFFICE
Note: Half day every Friday - finish 11am.
Note: MUST have own personal device for Friday WFH days - log into internal VPN portal. Else, can work from office on Fridays.
Culture: Business Casual (closer to casual). Have sports teams (cricket, soccer, ping pong, etc. corporate events throughout the year, culture electives as well. External training programs where we give training budgets to department heads, cover P.Eng renewals, mentorship programs. Internal mentorship and company-wide mentorship. Starting with a buddy as well. Mentor is your lead, buddy is someone you can ask questions to and get support when you need it.
Team Size: Disciplined Project engineering leads report to the functional dept. Heads and work closely with the PM who handles most of the client facing responsibility and P&L for project.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
