Financial Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling monthly reporting packages, overseeing revenue recognition, and developing annual operating plans and forecasts. This role requires a proactive approach to financial analysis and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Compile monthly reporting packages and present them to General Management following the accounting department's financial close.
- Oversee and adjust revenue recognition, addressing discrepancies at month-end close, including cost transfers and project setup solutions.
- Review flash reports summarizing weekly recognized revenue to streamline the month-end close process.
- Create and modify project setups as needed on a daily basis.
- Participate in project setup meetings to determine the configuration of new contracts within Costpoint.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor actual results against the AOP and forecast, investigate significant variances, and provide explanations to management.
- Train group employees on integrated financial software and serve as the point of contact for group employees.
- Calculate contract de-obligation for submission to Project Managers and the contracts department.
- Prepare and distribute weekly progress status reports to Project Managers.
- Track revenue, negative fees, indirect labor, unpaid invoices, and unallowable costs on a weekly basis.
- Prepare Quarterly Estimated Actual Costs reports.
- Review, approve, and assist in preparing customer invoices.
- Prepare and input transfers to correct erroneous charges.
- Review and approve employee expense and timesheet submissions.
- Maintain and update contract workforces, including WD contracts.
- Prepare rosters with employee information for quotes.
- Manage Unanet manager and project approver groups, updating and correcting employee passwords and timesheets as needed.
- Customize Business Intelligence reports upon request.
- Review contracts and modifications for financial accuracy.
- Review and approve Accounts Payable CostPoint voucher edit reports to prevent coding errors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 4-8 years of DoD government contract finance experience, including tracking program costs/financials, EAC/ETC forecasting, and billing the government.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUPs for data analysis.
- Ability to obtain a secret or active secret clearance.
- Experience with Costpoint.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in ship repair government contracts.
- Recent college graduates with an accounting or finance degree who understand journal entries, debits/credits, reconciliations, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs are also encouraged to apply.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
