Job Title: FPGA Engineer
Job Description
As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing innovative approaches and developing clearly written design specifications to ensure products meet technical performance, feature set, cost, and time to market goals. You will lead and coordinate engineering teams through documented architectural level design documents, perform original hardware design, and develop plans and schedules to bring products from market requirements to release. Additionally, you will support existing products and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement innovative approaches and develop design specifications.
- Lead and coordinate engineering teams through architectural level design documents.
- Facilitate the design and development of complex products.
- Develop plans, schedules, and identify resources for product development.
- Identify and mitigate risk areas to prevent schedule delays or failure to meet specifications.
- Conceive methods to achieve product requirements using appropriate hardware architecture and design techniques.
- Provide support for maintaining existing products by resolving defects, creating documentation, and releasing new hardware versions.
- Research, develop, propose, evaluate, and implement new methods, processes, techniques, tools, components, or technology to improve quality, timeliness, and performance.

- Experience with RTL simulation, Synthesis, and Static Timing Analysis using tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond
- Strong RTL coding/simulation/debug capabilities using VHDL
- Experience with CCA design specifying mixed-signal technology circuits
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Schematic capture experience in Cadence
- Experience with networking protocols such as PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, 1394, Fibre Channel
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware/firmware issues using software and hardware tools
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-429 is highly desirable
- Aerospace standards
Work Environment
You will work in a full hands-on design engineering and manufacturing company. The primary environment is an office/cubicle within the Engineering team, with exposure to manufacturing operations. You will see products both made and tested, gaining insight into the entire operation. The current team consists of two people, but growth is anticipated, creating the need for this position. This role is essential to meet the increased business demand and will be the first of several new hires.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $185000.00/yr.
