Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing samples, documenting results, and drafting detailed reports. You will work with various laboratory instruments and techniques including HFR, viscosity testing, and gas chromatography (GC). Responsibilities

• Test customer samples and record results accurately.
• Document testing procedures and outcomes.
• Write detailed reports using provided templates.
• Operate laboratory instruments such as HFR, viscosity testers, and GC.
• Set up new instruments and develop new testing methods.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Understand and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in the sciences, preferably in Chemistry.
• At least 1 year of industry experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with laboratory instruments and techniques including HFR, viscosity testing, and gas chromatography (GC).
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures.
• Ability to set up new instruments and develop new testing methods.
• Experience in calibrating laboratory equipment and drafting SOPs.

Work Environment

You will be joining a small team of three lab technicians, working closely with a new lab manager. The work environment is collaborative and fosters an entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging employees to be innovative and proactive. Our company operates globally, with sales offices and representatives across the US, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. We have production and blending facilities in Louisiana and are divided into two main divisions: Lubricants and Fuels. We develop, market, and distribute over 100 products, holding a 95% market share in our field. Employees can expect regular performance reviews and opportunities for raises every six months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00
