Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to interpret and verify service orders, specifications, drawings, and special requirements and instructions. The role involves assembling and setting up tools, materials, and equipment, as well as running, pulling, terminating, and splicing CAT5, CAT6, and coax cables. Experience with fiber is a plus but not necessary. You will also mount telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches, and assist in setting up routers and switches using information provided by appropriate contacts or technicians. Additionally, documenting the network by labeling cables and taking photos is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and verify service orders, specifications, drawings, and special requirements and instructions.
• Assemble and set up tools, materials, and equipment.
• Run, pull, terminate, and splice CAT5, CAT6, and coax cables.
• Mount telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches.
• Assist in setting up routers and switches using information provided by appropriate contacts or technicians.
• Document network by labeling cables and taking photos.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to interpret and verify service orders and specifications.
• Experience with running, pulling, terminating, and splicing CAT5, CAT6, and coax cables.
• Ability to mount telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches.
• Ability to assist in setting up routers and switches.
• Strong documentation skills, including labeling cables and taking photos.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Military experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
• General labor or military background is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the field, involving physical tasks and handling various telecommunications equipment. Candidates must be prepared for a hands-on role that may require lifting heavy objects and working in diverse environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
