Job Overview :

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Low Voltage Wiring Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage wiring systems, including but not limited to, structured cabling, security systems, audio / visual systems, and other low voltage electrical components. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of quality in their work, adhere to industry standards and codes, and prioritize health and safety in every task.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install and Maintain Low Voltage Systems : Install and maintain structured cabling, fiber optic systems, security systems, audio / video systems, and other low voltage equipment.
  • Quality Workmanship : Ensure all work is completed with the highest level of craftsmanship, meeting or exceeding industry standards and client specifications.
  • Code Compliance : Adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes, safety guidelines, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, BICSI).
  • Documentation & Record Keeping : Accurately document all installations, repairs, and maintenance work performed. Maintain detailed records of materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered.
  • Timeliness & Efficiency : Complete all projects within designated timelines while ensuring efficiency and minimal disruptions to operations.
  • Health and Safety : Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lift Operation & Certification : Operate lifts and other heavy equipment safely as needed to complete tasks, ensuring adherence to lift safety guidelines and certification requirements.
  • Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues related to low voltage systems in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : At least 2 years of experience in low voltage wiring installation and maintenance.
  • Certification : Preferred BICSI certification (Installer I or Installer II). Lift certification is required or the ability to obtain it.
  • Knowledge : Strong understanding of low voltage wiring systems, electrical codes, and industry standards.
  • Record Keeping : Ability to maintain accurate records and document all work performed clearly.
  • Safety : In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards, including OSHA regulations, and the ability to implement them in the workplace.
  • Skills : Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot systems effectively.
  • Communication : Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
