Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - CATIA

Job Description

We are seeking a CATIA Mechanical Design Engineer for the ADAS department. The role involves conducting design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, and coordinating activities related to prototyping and manufacturing of assigned products.

Responsibilities

• Draft engineering solutions for assigned components or parts and the associated drawings and 3D layouts.
• Confirm and track the feasibility, costs, quality, and performance of designs.
• Work under the guidance of experienced engineers to confirm designs for assigned components or parts, then present at team evaluations and inform manufacturing, technical evaluators, and suppliers.
• Prepare documents for evaluations, including cost checklists, technical and styling feasibility.
• Manage projects and suppliers.
• Conduct customer and market studies of new technologies.
• Engage in self-improvement and training.

Essential Skills

• Experience with CATIA V5 or V6.
• Product design experience, including sheet metal design, injection modeling, stamping, and general part design.
• Automotive product design experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related field.
• Experience in sheet metal design, injection modeling, stamping brackets, and general part design.

Work Environment

You will be part of a team of about 15 designers in an R&D environment. The position may require travel to other facilities and suppliers in North America. We offer a high-tech facility with opportunities for growth, front-end development opportunities for IVI systems, 2 weeks of PTO, 8 paid holidays, 2 weeks of paid shutdown, and straight time for overtime.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
