Job Title: Mechanical Designer/Drafter


Job Description

The Mechanical Designer will support both new product development and sustaining efforts for this project. The role involves design corrections and improvements to current and existing designs, developing new component designs from scratch, as well as prototyping and releasing designs. A strong understanding of GD&T and structural design is essential. The designer will work with SolidWorks, support change orders, and test designs.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development and sustaining efforts.
  • Perform design corrections and improvements to existing designs.
  • Create new component designs from scratch.
  • Prototype and release designs.
  • Utilize GD&T for structural design and detailing.
  • Design using SolidWorks software.
  • Support change orders and design modifications.
  • Test and validate design performance.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 6 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with GD&T and design testing.
  • 3 years of experience working within Agile PDM.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with sheet metal design.
  • Background in medical device design.

Work Environment

The position supports a large new platform R&D project focused on developing new drawings and parts for the next-generation platform. The role offers an opportunity to gain additional medical device experience and contribute to an exciting research and development project supporting new product development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00
