Mechanical Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for taking ideas from initial concept through to production. You will develop, assess, and evaluate conceptual designs, creating detailed technical plans using computer-aided design programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Your mathematical and scientific skills will be essential in developing workable, real-world solutions, while considering cost, safety, and time constraints in your designs.
You will select appropriate materials for assigned projects, plan and design new production processes, and develop project specifications in collaboration with colleagues across engineering disciplines. Rigorous testing of products, projects, and infrastructure will be a key part of your role, and you will recommend modifications based on prototype testing results.
Balancing multiple projects while maintaining proper engineering principles is crucial. You will accurately estimate costs and timelines, monitor the installation and commissioning of new processes and systems, and supervise production when required. Daily operations will include design engineering and problem-solving, discussing and solving complex problems collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, and ensuring products perform consistently in their specified operating environments.
You will develop efficient solutions for both small components and large elements, stay current with international engineering trends and standards, conduct research, and apply new knowledge to your work. Effective collaboration with professionals both within and outside engineering is essential, and you will assist with installation, testing, and commissioning in the field on an as-needed basis.
We seek candidates with a broad array of technical abilities essential for success. You must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving capabilities, design expertise, and analytical skills to develop innovative products from concept to completion. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks is required, along with experience in 3D modeling, simulation, and technical documentation.
Effective communication skills are crucial, as you will need to convey complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience in new product development
- Strong design skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
