PCR (QC) Analyst - **Urgent Need**
12 month contract - 3rd shift
Job Description
The PCR Analyst will perform routine testing and support projects. This includes qPCR testing with samples that have a 7-hour turnaround time. The role requires a collaborative team effort to process samples efficiently. The analyst will conduct in-process testing on raw materials, such as tissue slurry from pig origin, and extract RNA from the tissue. Additionally, the analyst will test finished products, including pancreatin powder. Responsibilities also include contaminant monitoring, positive control environmental monitoring, instrument calibration and maintenance, inventory management, and reagent preparation. The analyst will be trained on validation tasks, such as validating centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and liquid handler robots, software programming, lab space validation, and method drafting. They will also run speciation assays to identify and quantify different species within a sample.
Responsibilities

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Microbiology or a related discipline preferred
- 2 years of PCR/Micro Lab experience preferred
- 2 years of experience with GMP required for QC Analyst position
- 5 years of molecular pharmaceutical/GMP experience preferred for QC Analyst position
Work Environment
This position involves working a 3rd shift from Monday to Thursday, with a 10-hour day starting at 9 PM. A shift differential of $1.50/hr is provided. The role is in a new lab set to open in March 2025. The team size will consist of three members per shift. The team culture is laid-back yet driven, with a focus on hard work and a 'work hard, play hard' mentality. Initial training will take place on the 1st shift for the first week, transitioning to the assigned shift from the second week onward. The transition period will be from February 17th to March 3rd.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $43.26/hr.
