Pharmacy Technician - Order Entry
Full time: 2nd Shift - Mon-Fri from 3 PM to 11:30 PM
Job Description
The Order Entry/Customer Service Pharmacy Technician is responsible for order entry and triage. They handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately. They will communicate with Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians. They manage drug orders received via faxes and other forms, and answer questions about medications. For triage, they review patient profiles and decide whether to place orders. They prepare documents by highlighting pertinent information and send them to order entry. They handle about 15-30 calls per day, call on all new admissions to LTC facilities, and resolve issues with orders by understanding how the Automatic Dispensing Unit works. During order entry, they enter medication orders at a rate of about 40-45 per hour. This is a straightforward and repetitive role.

Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting that is quiet and production-based. The role is repetitive and involves handling the front line of the pharmacy, including all incoming phone calls, faxes, and electronic orders. This role includes triaging documents and orders, with team members typing the orders. The position also involves transferring orders to retail pharmacies. The job is full-time from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The setting is closed-door, not customer-facing, with educated individuals, and each employee has their own cubicle. The schedule is predictable, and the company has a growing, startup feel with a strong focus on technology.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
