Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team at a 363-bed, nonprofit, acute care hospital known for its excellent clinical care and exceptional compassion. This premier regional medical facility has multiple satellite locations across the rapidly expanding Inland Empire.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and other specimen collections accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of all specimens.
- Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the phlebotomy process.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Document patient interactions and specimen information accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory information systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
This role is based in a hospital environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 3:00am to 11:30am, with a requirement to work one day every weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. The dress code includes scrubs of any color and jackets without hoodies or logos. The hospital is surrounded by multiple shopping centers and numerous restaurants, providing convenient amenities for staff.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
