Job Title: QC Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC Lab Technician to join our team. This role involves supporting production by performing tests on all incoming materials, processes, and outgoing products, as well as conducting environmental testing. The position operates Monday through Friday from 4 AM to noon in a dairy company that produces white milk, chocolate milk, ice cream, eggnog, sour cream, and other dairy products.

Responsibilities

• Perform bacterial plating
• Conduct microbiology testing
• Execute pH testing
• Use infrared reader for butter fat and total solids analysis
• Measure titratable acidity
• Calibrate machines
• Conduct weight checks

Essential Skills

• Experience with wet chemistry
• Knowledge of biology
• Understanding of food quality control (QC)
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques
• Ability to perform plating and microbiology tests
• Experience in a lab environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree with labs in Biology or related field preferred
• High school diploma considered with industry lab experience
• Aseptic technique experience is a plus but not required
• Quick learning ability
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask
• Restaurant industry experience is beneficial
• Must not be lactose intolerant as the role requires tasting products

Work Environment

The role requires flexibility and the ability to work all shifts for the first month and a half, after which the shift will be first shift. The work environment is collaborative, with opportunities to interact with plant employees. The team is supportive and ensures coverage when flexibility is needed. Employees will gain experience in microbiology, basic chemistry, and machine calibration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
