Quality Assurance/Quality Control Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance/Quality Control Coordinator with extensive knowledge in HVAC, Electrical, and utility routing. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, be well-versed in materials of construction, and possess the ability to suggest alternatives when faced with material delays or pricing escalations. This role requires a deep understanding of construction codes and specifications, as well as the ability to ensure quality in the field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality assurance and quality control for HVAC, Electrical, and utility routing projects.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications accurately.
• Ensure compliance with building and construction codes, including STL County, NECA, NFPA, SMANCA, IBC 2020, and others.
• Provide field experience as an installer, inspector, engineer, or trainer.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to streamline project issues and maintain quality standards.
• Coach and lead teams effectively without being adversarial.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Walk project sites and climb ladders as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Strong engineering knowledge and background.
• Focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (M.E.P.).
• OSHA 500 certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of field experience.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of building and construction codes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in quality control inspection.
• Background in construction management.
• Familiarity with construction documents.

Work Environment

This position requires working inside facilities, with standard working hours from 6 am to 5 pm, typically 8 to 10 hours per day. The role involves wearing basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, safety glasses with rigid side shields, and safety-toed shoes. High visibility clothing may be required under certain circumstances. The ability to walk project sites, climb ladders, and work at various heights is necessary. The work environment is collaborative and aims to maintain high-quality standards without being divisive.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
