Job Title: Regulatory Labeling & Compliance Specialist

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or Food Technology
• Could take a biology, chemistry, or different degree with a food manufacturing and labeling experience with knowledge on the regulatory laws
• 1 years in food labeling experience is required
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA labeling regulations

Job Description

• Generate and evaluate product packaging, nutrition labels, ingredients, and allergen statements for compliance with USDA and FDA regulations.
• Utilize the FSIS label submission and approval system for label verification and approval.
• Use the CFR database for verification of USDA and FDA regulations.
• Manage the regulatory review process for new and reformulated food products.
• Maintain compliance for existing products.
• Review and substantiate claims independently, providing regulatory guidance to the R&D team.
• Ensure new products meet the required claims.
• Possess knowledge of raw materials, ingredient functionality, and standards of identity.
• Manage the nutrition label program for various food production units including commissary, bakery, and bulk manufacturing.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure accurate labeling on food products.
• Stay informed about recalls related to foods and ingredients and communicate relevant information to facilities.
• Stay up-to-date with FDA and USDA regulations, including the ability to read and interpret laws and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain attention to detail in all regulatory processes.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members and Governmental regulatory agencies including USDA and FDA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
