Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape new products from scratch and improve existing ones. The candidate will work closely with customers to develop system concepts, technical requirements, and product specifications. Additionally, the candidate will oversee systems design throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop system concepts, technical requirements, and product specifications in collaboration with customers.
• Oversee systems design from concept to completion.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
• Lead architecture development, interface definition, system modeling, algorithm development, data analysis, and trade studies.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.
• Report progress to management and customer representatives.
• Support systems integration and customer trial activities.
• Generate technical requirements and specifications, manage requirements, and ensure compliance traceability.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB.
• Experience working cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
• Strong experience in system design from concept to completion.
• PCB design experience.
• Experience in electrical engineering, radar, and sonar.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in architecture development, interface definition, system modeling, algorithm development, data analysis, and trade studies.
• Ability to provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.
• Effective progress reporting skills to management and customer representatives.
• Experience in supporting systems integration and customer trial activities.
• Capability to generate technical requirements and specifications, manage requirements, and ensure compliance traceability.

Work Environment

The work environment involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. The role requires hands-on work with MATLAB and PCB design, as well as involvement in the systems integration and customer trial activities. The candidate will be expected to provide technical leadership and report progress to both management and customer representatives.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $220000.00/yr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Barbara,CA.
