Tissue Processing Technician

Job Description

The Tissue Processing Technician will perform debridement and processing, packaging, and labeling of human tissue products for surgical transplantation while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and AATB regulations.

Hours are 3rd shift (11 PM to 7:30 AM), M-F.

Responsibilities

• Perform processing, debridement, packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished products.
• Utilize special techniques, instrumentation, and equipment to clean and size tissue to specifications and protocols.
• Assist Team Lead with efforts in maintaining inventory levels on the core and dock for receiving supplies.
• Perform lab cleaning activities as required by policies, protocols, procedures, and SOPs.
• Work with Quality and Regulatory staff to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and AATB regulations and requirements, particularly those pertaining to manufacturing.
• Correctly complete production documentation as required in tissue processing in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality standards.
• Assist with production records as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• B.S. or A.S. in a science field is preferred
• High School Diploma required
• Experience in tissue or human tissue processing
• Understanding of debridement techniques
• Knowledge in using scalpels, forceps, and other medical instruments
• Ability to work with quality assurance and regulatory staff

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates Degree in science (preferred but not required)
• Prior Medical/Healthcare experience (a plus)
• Experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control (a plus)
• Experience in regulated environments (a big plus)
• Desire to be in the position long-term
• Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in a clean room environment. The technician must be comfortable wearing PPE provided by the client, including a lab coat, safety glasses, hairnet, and medical gloves. Team sizes range from 8-12 members, depending on the shift. The shift available is the 3rd shift, from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday, with a requirement to be open to the person and working rotating holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
