Job Title: Validation Engineer
Job Description
The Validation Engineer will be responsible for creating process flows, control plans, and PPAPs. They will work directly with internal and external customers to develop PPAP documentation for products, including prototype builds. This role is documentation-heavy, with approximately 75% of the time spent at a desk and 25% on the floor reviewing assemblies and monitoring builds.
Responsibilities
- Generate PPAP documentation for new programs, transfers, or engineering changes as required, including submittal of customer PPAPs.
- Develop and write Validation Documents: Risk Assessment, Validation Plan (OQ, PQ), User Requirements, Functional Requirements, and Validation Report.
- Monitor and control validation samples in manufacturing.
- Develop Process Flow Charts, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
- Identify key process and quality characteristics and monitoring methods.
- Plan and perform MSA's and process capability studies.
- Develop and perform Design of Experiments (DOEs).
- Monitor and measure process changes and analyze the effects.
- Identify and assist in the resolution of non-conformances.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements.
Essential Skills
- 2 years' experience working as a Quality Engineer or Validation Engineer within Manufacturing.
- ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 experience.
- Experience creating process flows, control plans, and PPAPs.
- Gage R&R experience.
- Experience with circuit boards or electronics.
- Process capability and capability measurements (CPK) experience.
- Familiarity with Minitab.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with circuit boards or electronics is preferred.

- Minitab experience is a nice-to-have.
Work Environment
The Validation Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and work within a team of four, including Validation Engineers, a documentation specialist, and a trainer. The company has a strong team environment with many veteran employees, providing ample opportunities for learning and growth. The company is rapidly growing and currently employs 175 people. They manufacture Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for the global electronics market, meeting stringent regulatory demands of medical device, military, and defense industries. Most manufacturing processes are assembly-based, including coating, housing, and soldering assemblies, with a mix of manual and automated processes. The standard workweek is 40 hours, with minimal overtime as needed. The company offers industry-specific training and development programs, including Safari University. Employees receive 10 days of PTO, 6 standard holidays, and access to Udemy after 6 months of employment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.66/hr.
