Job Title: Automation Engineer / Controls Engineer

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Automation Engineer / Controls Engineer to lead electrical design projects, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and project execution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document control systems including PLC, HMI, instrumentation, motor control, VFDs, safety circuits, robotics.
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Mentor junior team members and support professional growth.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other design tools.
- Research and implement new technologies.
- Manage client interactions, approvals, and permitting processes.
- Perform on-site inspections and collaborate with contractors and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred but not required.
- PE status with the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers preferred but not required.
- 5 years of electrical design experience in PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, robotics, and VFDs.
- Proficiency in development software such as Rockwell, Siemens, Fanuc, ABB, Copa-Data.
- Experience with pharmaceutical industry and/or power generation preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of U.S. electrical and ANSI standards; ISO 9001 experience preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
- International travel required (up to 30%).
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Overtime and weekend work as required.
- Exposure to client worksites.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
