Position: Senior .Net Developer
Location: Madison, WI / 100 % Remote (must be a Wisconsin resident in Madison or surrounding communities or willing to relocate at their own expense before starting)
Duration: 6 months - likely will be extended
DETAILS:
This position is needed for the development of critical priority modernization projects in the Division of Unemployment Insurance.
Candidates will play an integral role in providing technical strategy and contractual oversight on work performed by teams as part of modernization development efforts.
Project work will include:
- Application architecture design and development
- Development of user stories
- Quarterly planning strategies
- Product roadmaps and other key strategic deliverables
- Selection and review of on-premise and cloud tools and technology
- Code reviews and work item reviews to ensure they meet the department's technical objectives and comply with required security requirements
- Hands-on development using a variety of programming languages and tools
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integration, web development, and Agile Scrum development methodology.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 15 years
- Web and client-server application development experience, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support (15yrs)
- MVC framework (15yrs)
- C# .NET experience (first 5 years ASP/.NET acceptable; 15 years total)
- Evaluating and recommending programming languages, design tools, and applications
- Data modeling and database design
- SQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery
- Code reviews and user story development
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure
- Experience with Docker, SonarQube, and PostgreSQL
- Previous experience providing services for government agencies, particularly DWD
- Experience working with z/OS
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
