Full job description
Come work for a small family operated company where you are not just a number or body but part of our family. A Certified Crane Operator is responsible for safe and proper operation of truck crane, digger derrick, foundation drill and other heavy equipment on jobsites. The heavy equipment operator is the primary contact for the Superintendent and foreman on-site for information related to the readiness of equipment to perform the work. There will also be other electrical / construction work required for this position
Duties and Responsibilities
Attendance of monthly Safety meetings, weekly toolbox talks and daily briefings to understand daily work plan.
Safe and proper operation of truck crane, digger derrick and / or foundation drill as required.
Maintain Crane Operator Certifications and renew in a timely manner.
Coordinate annual truck crane inspections.
Operate all equipment in accordance with Company standards and certification requirements.
Ability to understand and develop a critical lift plan with the Foreman.
Complete full daily truck crane, digger derrick and foundation drill inspections prior to operation.
Ensure all required gear and manuals are posted and stowed properly in equipment prior to daily operation.
Responsible for load chart knowledge and coordinating picks with foreman ahead of time to ensure safe picks.
Observe and coach riggers with setting load for safe picks.
Expertise in crane signals and ensuring signalperson is prepared for proper communication.
Communicate with foreman any issues or concerns with equipment immediately.
Perform truck crane, digger derrick, and foundation drill set-up onsite in advance with foreman and laborers.
Perform other electrical and construction duties when needed.
Assist with training other crew members on proper rigging, signaling and operation, when needed.
Qualifications :
Commercial Driver's License – Required (or be able to obtain within 1 month)
NCCCO Certification (or equivalent) – Required (or be able to obtain within 1 month)
3-5 years Crane operating experience is a Plus
Electrical Journeyman License is a Plus
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Prior experience with load charts and ability to perform lift calculations timely in the field.
Certified OSHA Rigging / Signalperson, or be able to obtain
Prior.
Crane operation in a heavy construction environment.
Safety Critical” position requires regular vision checks and clean drug testing.
Ability to work outside.
Knowledge of safety regulations.
Familiar with computers / tablets for inspection submittals.
