Pay Rate: $24.57 per hour

Shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
Position Summary:
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities requiring practical skill and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist Technicians in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chillers and chilled water systems; HVAC equipment; boilers and hot water heating systems; domestic water and plumbing systems; electrical systems including lighting, motors, starters, contractors, etc.
• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures,
• Replace filters and belts
• Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, or toilets
• Paint structures and equipment
• Repair concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
• Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
• Hang doors and install door locks
• Replace broken windowpanes
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 1-2 years of experience (within the past 5 years) in building operations, repair, and maintenance or in an occupation such as general mechanic, maintenance electrician, HVAC apprentice, etc.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance upon hire
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and email applications
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assignments
- Ability to complete tasks independently or work in a team environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
- Comfortable dealing with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations

Working Environment:
Work takes place in a commercial office building both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to the elements. May be exposed to loud noises due to machinery or equipment.
