Summer Day Camp/ MESH Counselor
Action Kids Summer Camp is committed to helping all of our campers enjoy a magical summer camp experience! We are seeking a candidate for the role of MESH Counselor (M*ental-Emotional-Social-H*ealth support). The MESH counselor is an integral part of providing support for all of our campers and especially for our campers that come to us with emotional, sensory or behavioral challenges. The MESH counselor helps to build and support proactive behavior management strategies with both campers and camp staff. The MESH counselor must be able to respond and support individual campers quickly and effectively with emotional constancy. MESH support includes role modeling, social skills building, de-escalation and problem solving.

Skills and Qualifications:
· Desire and passion to help and support children
· Organized, caring, proactive, creative, flexible, problem-solver!
· Behavioral support training/experience working with children in a school, recreational or child care setting
· Ability to interact, support and communicate clearly and effectively with children and adults.
· Ability to support camp-wide behavior management strategies
· Ability to implement/support a range of individualized positive intervention strategies
· Role model and assist camp staff with effective strategies to minimize common behavior issues
· Monitor camp groups for behavior trends: positive and negative
· Work directly with the MESH Director/Camp Directors to develop behavior strategies for all campers to be successful and safe at camp
· Help to create a nurturing environment and build community with all campers and staff.
· 21 years of age
